What We Do
The Clock Tower Surgery caters exclusively for Exeter’s homeless and vulnerably housed. It is located within the Co-Lab, where agencies work together to deliver more efficient and streamlined support for their client groups.
Having a GP surgery dedicated to caring for the homeless and vulnerably housed under the same roof as housing, support, mental health, and probation services, as well as a number of other voluntary agencies, has empowered the Clock Tower Surgery to change for the better the lives of some of the city’s most disadvantaged residents.
Additional services provided by the Clock Tower Surgery:
- Substance misuse prescribing
- Provision of antidote to heroin overdose (as well as advice on how to administer it)
- A comprehensive service for venous leg ulcers
- Assessment and management of complex mental health problems by our own mental health workers and clinical psychologist
- Physiotherapist offering fast access, ie within seven days, for musculoskeletal problems
- An extensive blood-borne virus service including testing, immunisation, and in-reach from a specialist hepatology nurse
- Opportunistic health promotion, including smoking cessation, contraception, STI screening, and chronic disease management.
